A soul is what tethers us to this world,
Reality true due to the spirit within.
Every soul is different,
Some are similar but all are unique.
Everyone thinks in different ways,
Speaks in different tongues,
And feel in different measure,
That is where life comes difficult.
No one will truly ever understand you.
As the human race we are masters of disguise,
A smile can hide everything,
Including utter despair.
That despair eating away from within,
Bite by bite gnawing away at the soul.
Devouring the light,
Ravaging on an existence.
This continues until the soul has almost gone,
The body becoming just a vessel.
All hope for the future lost,
And with that the soul fades away.
